Domo Arigato: Jon @ Community Gum

If you're a fan of numbered cards... then you should pick up a box of 2008 Topps Moments & Milestones. I've never busted this product myself... but last month I entered a contest over at
Community Gum. The details of the contest were... well to put it in simple terms... CRAZY. I won't even try to explain.

What I will tell you is that Community Gum is a cool blog that covers everything from video box breaks to PC additions. They also talk about card industry news and even have a video game review on their blog. It's actually one of my favorite posts, because it has a YouTube video of a reenactment of Game 6 of the 1986 World Series done on RBI Baseball for the NES. I encourage you to head over there and check it out.

Now... onto my winnings. Like I was starting to tell you... Community Gum busted a box of Topps Moments & Milestones and gave away most of their pulls. I ended up winning three cards, but Jon was nice enough to throw in a few extras. Here's what he sent:

Tres Gigantes

Five Hoffmans, Two Adrians, & a Sheff

An Ichiro

A Swish #'d to 25

Y un Chavez #'d to 10

Thanks Jon... all of these cards are going straight into the PC... except for the two Lincecums and the Kent. They'll be taken to work and given away as rewards to my students.

Speaking of PC's... I wanted to show off my B.J. Raji PC in honor of his game winning Pick 6. Didn't see it? Here ya go...

I'll take "The Freezer" over "The Refrigerator" any day of the week!

Only one more game to go... before I begin to celebrate... and no doubt... it should be a good one. In fact... I'm still recovering from the Steelers win over the Hawks five years ago in Super Bowl XL. Here's an opportunity for the Packers to avenge the Seahawks loss... and set things right in the Fuji household.

Happy Monday everyone!

  1. BJ went to BC, alma mater of most of my high school friends, and so I usually like him. But there...less so. Mostly because he did the arm fully extended thing that has put Leon Lett on blooper reels for ages. One more yard to the endzone and Raji fumbles that ball before the goal line when Hanie strips him. I know d linemen don't touch the ball a lot...but c'mon man!!!

That said, go Pack next week. Steelers succcck!

  2. I'm rooting for the Pack. I don't care for Ben Worthlessburger because of his latenight exploits with the ladies.

Cool Raji collection. That big man frees things up for those star linebackers to make plays.

  3. spastikmooss - you and i are totally on the same page. i was pretty frustrated that he was showboating so soon... same thing with shields on the second to the last play of the game... i just wanted him to drop to the ground. i'm sure mccarthy & capers will address the issue.

charles - no doubt... i'm glad raji is starting to get the credit he's due. it's going to be an awesome game... and if rodgers bounces back and the d plays to their ability... they'll be bringing lombardi back to wisconsin.
