Blog Trade #2: My Cardboard Mistress

I have been online trading since the early 90's... back when I was cruising the AOL message boards. Then a little over a year ago, I joined Sports Card Forum and have completed almost 200 successful trades over there.

Well, today... I have officially wrapped up my second successful blog trade since entering this corner of the hobby. Last Thursday, Adam over at My Cardboard Mistress contacted me about helping each other's PC's... and 6 days later I have added 9 new cards to 3 different PC's.

First up are two Oakland A's cards. On the left is a 2008 A Piece of History "Timeless Moments" jersey card of former A's pitcher Dan Haren. It's actually the only Haren memorabilia card that I have in my Oakland A's PC. Right next to it is a 2008 Sweet Spot "Sweet Swatch" jersey card of A's legend, Reggie Jackson. It's my second Jackson memorabilia card, but this is by far the best looking of the two.

The next two cards are going into my San Diego Padres PC. The autograph is of Logan Forsythe and it's from the 2010 Bowman Prospects set. I've never heard of him, but according to AOL Fanhouse, he's one of the Padres' top prospects. Next to the autograph is a 2009 UD A Piece of History "Stadium Scenes" jersey card of Chris Young. I already had a couple of Young autographs, but this is my first jersey card of his.

The final card in our trade actually kills two birds with one stone. This 2005 UD Pros & Prospects "Signs of Stardom" autograph of Akinori Otsuka will be added to my Padres PC and my Japanese athletes PC. This is the first Otsuka autograph. It'll sit right next to my memorabilia card of Otsuka. Now, all I need is a rookie card of him to complete a Sports Card Trifecta.

Adam threw in four bonus cards in the package... none of which I had previously owned... so I'm pretty stoked to have them in my Japanese athlete PC. The card in the upper left corner is a 2009 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions base card of one of San Jose's hometown heroes... Kristi Yamaguchi. I have the autographed version of this card, but I'm stoked about getting this one. I guess I'll have to hunt down the mini and any of her other parallels from this set.

Right below the Yamaguchi is a 2010 Topps 206 "American Caramel" mini card of Dice-K. It's my first Topps 206 card, since I haven't busted any of this product... Yet. Last, but not least are the two 2008 Topps Chrome "Trading Card History" cards of Hideki Matsui (top) and Hideki Okajima (bottom). I never opened this product either, so it's the first time I've seen either of these cards.

Well that's it. Nine new PC additions. Thanks again Adam for an awesome blog trade! Hopefully we can help each other out again in the near future.

It's that time... here's today's question of the day: Do you have any cards that actually fit into two (or more) different PC's... like my Otsuka auto? If so... what are they? Do you have a favorite?

Happy Hump Day! Enjoy the rest of your week.

Thanks for a great trade, should have a post coming soon. As for killing two birds with one stone, I just picked up a Dual Jersey card of BJ and Justin Upton off ebay. I grew up with those guys from little league through high school, so it's just an awesome card to pick up.

I know you asked a question in your post, and I'm sure it's good, But I'm really interested In what your looking for in you collection. You and I seem to like the same type of cards for the most part. Take a look at my collection/trade album and let me know if there is anything you interested in.

I don't have too many specific types of collections.

I have a number of Dodger night cards, I guess that's as close to an overlap as I get.

Nice cards from Spankee.

I have a few nice Pudge Rodriguez play at the plate cards so I guess that fits the bill.
