This week... graduation practice begins. Yearbook signings, classroom cleanup, and 8th grade graduation ensues. Then finally... I can embrace my summer vacation and get back to blogging full-time.
In the meantime, check out some more goodies Tony over at Off Hiatus Baseball Cards sent me a few weeks ago:
Let's get things rolling with a pair of shiny retro refractors: 2014 Finest Vintage and 2014 Bowman 1989 Bowman is Back. And since we're on the retro kick, he also sent a 1998 Pacific Invincible base card of Mr. Gwynn.
Invincible was one of the few Pacific products I actually purchased back in the 90's. I was a huge fan of the way they incorporated a piece of acetate into their base cards.
Both of these are special cards produced by Baseball Card Magazine during the late 80's/early 90's. Steinbach is one of the greatest catchers in Oakland A's franchise history... and although Ozzie never really panned out... I'm still excited to add this to my A's binder. In fact, this is the first Ozzie Canseco to make it. Right now he has the page all to himself.
Blog Update:
I'm way behind in terms of blogger packages. I have a stack of five or six padded envelopes from fellow bloggers... plus two medium sized boxes waiting to be opened.
So before I wrap up this post, I'd like to offer my sincere apologies to everyone I've kept waiting. I figure if Jose can do it...
I can too.
Thanks Tony for the generous package! I'll get a Brewers package for you in the mail in the next few weeks.

Love that Invincible card! Imagine how great the hobby would be with Pacific back!
I always forget about Ozzie. Great stuff!
sports card collectors - I'm not sure there's enough gold foil left in the world for Pacific to make a comeback ;) But if they did, I'd probably pick up a few packs of Invincible (assuming they used acetate)
mr. scott - it's kinda sad... but I do too.
