However, I wanted to publish my obligatory basketball post... since most of my family and friends are still celebrating the Golden State Warriors dream season that resulted in their first NBA Championship in forty years.
Believe it or not, I actually switched my allegiance from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Golden State Warriors a few years ago... after being a fan since the Showtime Era.
Why the switch? I essentially grew tired of the Lakers buying NBA Titles. As a kid, it didn't bother me. But as an adult, it sort of ruined the sport for me.
And even though it's not natural, I've enjoyed attending Warriors' games since I was a kid and they were always my 2nd favorite team... especially when Run TMC were ballin' together.
The problem? Within a season of cheering for the Warriors, they became a playoff contender... which made me look like I wanted to jump on the Oak-town Bandwagon.
The solution? Focus on other sports and maybe in a few years I'll rekindle my love for basketball. Hopefully by then, the Warriors will return to mediocracy... so I won't feel so guilty about cheering for them.
Until then... congratulations to all of the loyal and diehard Golden State Warriors fans who stood by your team all of these years. I'm so happy for all of you.
Happy Wednesday and sayonara!

I find myself watching and following fewer and fewer sports as I get older and life gets in the way. It's sad, really, but it is just the way that my life evolved. Hopefully, if you really love basketball, you'll get back to following the game and follow a team organically.
I feel you, I love football and is my primary collecting focus besides MMA and my personal collections. It is just to much to try to collect everything and it does not help that Panini has done their best to corner the entire hobby.
Probably the only way I'll get back into the NBA is if WVU produces a high end talent. Right now I don't have much of a reason to watch.
tony - i'm sure there'll come a day when i return to collecting basketball cards and watching games. if not... maybe i'll pick up a ball and start playing again.
corky - i've really gotten into mma this past 18 months or so. yeah... it's way too expensive to collect everything.
matthew - outside of the great jerry west... i don't think i can name any other west virginia nba players. then again... the only reason i know west played for them is b/c of your blog ;)
I'm a couple days late. Awesome auto collection. I was totally rooting for GS because of Steve Kerr. I'm from Chicago plus Steve seems like a really good guy.
Thanks! Kerr is a b-ball god here in the Bay Area. Glad he was able to help the Warriors end a 40 year drought.
