Three Down... Three To Go!

Last October, I introduced... My "Lefty" Project. If you're not familiar with it, here's a quick summary.

My goal is to collect every regular (& traded) issue Topps base card of Steve Carlton from his playing years.

Yesterday morning, I needed these six:

But after a package in the mail & a COMC purchase, my wantlist has been narrowed down to these three:

A huge thank you goes out to Markz (from Sports Card Forum). He traded me this 1969 Topps Steve Carlton...

and as an added bonus, he threw in this 1983 Topps Steve Carlton...

These two cards motivated me to head over to COMC and search for the remaining Carltons on my wantlist. I picked up this 1975 Topps Mini Steve Carlton for $2...

It won't officially be off of my wantlist until I have it in my hands... but it's one less card to worry about. Three down... three to go!

Thanks again Markz for another awesome trade... best of luck on your 1975 Topps set.

Happy Thursday everyone... and sayonara!

Extra Edition!

Oh... I almost forgot. Markz threw in another two cards:

Ai Miyazato is Japan's top female golfer (currently ranked 9th on the LPGA tour). The above card is a 2010 Sports Illustrated for Kids card. The other card is a 2000 MLB Showdown card of Masato Yoshii. Yoshii played five season in the MLB from 1998 to 2002, before heading back to Japan to play. He retired in 2007 and is currently a pitching coach for the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters.

Domo arigato Markz... these will make fine additions to my Japanese Athlete PC.

  1. Still have the '87 Traded for you, was gonna email you about it tonight. Not a huge start to a trade, but it is a start.

  2. I have a 1965 Carlton with a huge nasty ding in the side. If condition is not a big deal, email me if you are interested and maybe we can work out a trade for it.

  3. scott - still interested in the 87 traded (all $.10 worth... lol)

    patp - thanks

jacobmrley - condition isn't a big deal... i'll email you.

  4. Nice Miyazato! I see her on TV quite a bit. Same goes for Yoshii. After the Darvish deal was announced everyone was interviewing him about Darvish's future in the Bigs.

  5. taka - yeah... love those si for kids cards. i hope she climbs back up and challenges the ladies at the top of the rankings. as for Yoshii... maybe the rangers will bring him over and have him work as darvish's personal coach ;-)

  6. Fuji, do you have the 1987 Carlton wax box bottom card, he's in a air-brushed Giant's uniform. I have an extra if you want it.
