Sports Card Trifecta #19: Ray Lewis

Love him or hate him... the Ray Lewis era has reached the end of the road (cue Boyz II Men).  His legacy will be remembered by those who appreciate his talent, effort, and leadership he provided his teammates and fans.

I've been looking forward to showing off my Ray Lewis Sports Card Trifecta ever since he announced his retirement last month and kept waiting for him to play his final game.  I never expected the Ravens to reach the big game.  But honestly... you couldn't write a better ending to his storybook football career.

Memorabilia Card:  2001 SP Game Used "Authentic Fabric" #RL

Rookie Card:  1996 Bowman's Best #164

Autographed Card:  2009 Exquisite "Endorsements" #ERL

Congratulations on your Super Bowl victory Mr. Lewis.  Thank you for providing all of your fans those entertaining pre-game dances and of course the in-game vicious hits.  It was an honor to be able to witness the final game of your NFL career.  Enjoy your retirement, because you've earned it.

Happy Monday and sayonara!

Agreed. Storybook is most apt in this case.

That's a great looking '09 Exquisite card you've got there!

The only Lewis card I may have lying around is from the '09 Masterpieces set. Want it? I like Lewis, especially his contagious passion, but I don't have a use for the card at this point.

Nice cards!

Fuji I'm a season ticket holder of the Ravens since the 1st season have seen every Lewis home game except for 4 It was an honor to watch him be who he is on the field I loved it all from the introductions to the pre-game speeches to the U praying session with the likes of Ed Reed, Willis McGahee etc. to the devastating sideline to sideline speed of his youth to knowing what play was coming from endless film study in his later years was all great! It will be different next year the 1st of Baltimore without RAY!

I'm glad he was able to go out on the highest of notes. He played with passion, and was a leader on the field. I'm a Packers fan, but I've always admired Lewis' game. He played with such tenacity.

As you said, he earned it. And those are 3 nice looking cards Fuji!

Thanks buddy. I was excited to add it to my collection. They made a Ray Lewis Masterpieces card? I busted a case of this stuff, so if he's part of the base set, then I probably have a few. But I appreciate the offer.

Thanks. I'm a Packers fan too. Was bummed that they pulled up short again. At least they have some serious talent on that team. I'm sure they'll be playoff bound again next year.
