Remember the pine tar post? Well... it made me realize that there aren't a lot of pieces of cardboard in my collection that feature Mr. Brett. Sure I have a handful of base cards from different sets I own. But I don't own an autograph of him. And I'm pretty sure there aren't any George Brett memorabilia cards sitting at my parent's house either.
That's when I remembered a cool card from my childhood. It's the 1982 Spot-bilt George Brett. I never owned a copy, but one of my buddies did and he'd never trade it to me. I'm pretty sure I even begged my mom to buy me some Spot-bilt cleats in a last ditch effort to obtain the card.
In short... it has eluded me for nearly thirty years. But thanks to a quick eBay search, there's now a copy sitting in my inserts and oddballs binder. If you're interested in owning a copy for yourself, they're very affordable. I paid a dollar for my copy... and that included shipping. Yup! I paid full book and I'm proud of it.
Happy Saturday and sayonara!

Nice oddball from your youth. I have a Brett bat card that I always held onto because his .390 season was a big part of my early baseball experience.
Congrats on picking up a White Whale!
I have a couple of these. Oddballs from the late '70s/early '80s are the best oddballs.
I'm the only Oddball from my youth!!!
"I'm George Brett! I can't afford a decent haircut, but maybe I'll be able to if you buy these cleats."
j/k -- very nice card, Fuji. I'd never heard of these, so it was fun to see you post it.
