Okay... maybe I'm being a little melodramatic. Still there were far less people than normal... probably 40% occupied at best.
It took my buddy and me awhile to figure out why there were so little vendors set up. Then halfway through the walkthrough, it hit him. The World Cup. Mexico vs. Netherlands. Considering that our flea market community has a strong Hispanic presence, it totally made sense. However it was still pretty eyeopening just how much The World Cup impacted the attendance Sunday morning.
Usually I spend an hour or two walking around, but we finished in less than 45 minutes. Before we left, I did manage to make one small purchase...
Purchase #1: Vintage Billy Ball Baseball $2
I already own one of these, but the price was right and I didn't want to leave empty-handed. It's a little beat up and has a small pen stain, but it'll look nice in my classroom.
Sorry if my lack of flea market purchases has been disappointing as of late. I've been on a wicked cold streak, which hasn't exactly motivated me to get out there and walk around. Plus... I was saving up my extra cash for last weekend's card show.
By the way, if you're interested, I'll be showing off the rest of my card show purchases tomorrow.
Happy Wednesday and sayonara!

You win some, you lose some. You've won a lot!
I think I had that exact ball holder 30 years ago. I kept a Brewers ball in it. In that 30 years, the signatures have faded off the ball...
Look forward to the card show post
Just think of it this way: more money for next time.
Ball looks great. I'd say it was a nice score, even if you already have one. Well done.
Lol... old school 80's holder. Totally reminds me of my childhood.
It's been a rough 2014 in terms of Flea Market Finds... I think I was a little spoiled after a solid 2013. The cold streak has to end sometime, right?
