I finally got around to checking out my purchases yesterday afternoon and was pumped when I stumbled across this card.
2015 Strata Green Auto #SACKW (#'d 66/75) $50
Now I realize that this COA doesn't actually guarantee anything... but it's better than the vague COA's collectors have been forced to accept the past decade or so. In fact, according to this... Kershaw used this jersey in a game that took place exactly one year ago against the St. Louis Cardinals.
He absolutely dominated the Cardinals that night... limiting them to only one hit, while striking out eleven. I guess he was wearing his lucky jersey... and now I own a swatch of it. I'm glad I decided to open this package yesterday... because I'm able to get an "anniversary" post out of this card today. Talk about "perfect timing".
Another example of perfect timing in regards to this post is the purchase of two Mookie Betts autographs:
2014 Five Star Autograph #FSA-MBE (#'d 473/499) $20
2015 National Treasures Silhouettes #38 (#'d 14/25) $16.50
I purchased them last Monday... right before he clobbered five home runs in two days and drove up his autograph prices. Normally... I'm the guy who's late to the game and misses the boat. The perfect example is the 2016 Topps Now Bartolo Colon card. But that's another topic for another day. Today... it's about my perfect timing.
Happy Monday and sayonara!
