Set Showcase #8: 2010 Packers Police Set

It's been five years since I've had a reason to cheer for a team in the Super Bowl. That's when the Seahawks were beaten by the officials... I mean the Steelers. Just kidding Pittsburgh fans.

This year... The Packers have the opportunity to make things right in the Fuji household. It's what I've been waiting for all season... when I picked them to reach the Super Bowl in early September. Click here if you don't believe me.

Okay... so I was a little bit off with the AFC (I picked the Colts to win it all). But that doesn't matter. What matters is that my favorite team is in the big game with an opportunity to win their fourth Super Bowl and thirteenth championship.

My students have been bugging me the past two weeks on who I think is going to win. And it pains me to say this... but if I were a betting man, I'd go with the Steelers. Why? I just think the Steelers have a slight advantage when it comes to defense, plus... they have plenty of players who have been to the Super Bowl before. And I've always been a huge supporter of the phrase... defense wins championships.

No... I don't think they'll blow out the Packers. In fact... my guess is that the Packers will take slim lead into the fourth and the game will be decided on the last drive of the game. I have no doubt in my mind that this game will be epic. And although my mind tells me that the Steelers are going to win, my heart says that this is Rodgers' year to shine. Because if there's one thing the Packers have... it's heart.

Anyways... here's another way to show off my support for the Green & Gold. Take a look at this year's Packers Police set. I've been collecting these since the late 90's and love every one of them. I personally think that this year is sort of ironic, because it features a "steel-like" look to it. So without any further delays... let's get it started:

The men who call the shots...
#1 Ted Thompson (General Manager)
#2 Mike McCarthy (Head Coach)

The leader of the Pack...
#3 Aaron Rodgers (Quarterback)

and his offensive arsenal...
#4 Donald Driver (Wide Receiver)
#5 Greg Jennings (Wide Receiver)
#6 Jermichael Finley (Tight End)
#7 Ryan Grant (Running Back)

Mr. Rodgers' neighborhood watch crew...
#8 Mark Tauscher (Right Tackle)
#9 Chad Clifton (Left Tackle)
#10 Scott Wells (Center)

And when the defense is on the field... the Packers D-Line...
#11 Cullen Jenkins (Defensive End)
#12 Ryan Pickett (Defensive End)
#13 B.J. Raji (Nose Tackle)

and the Green & Gold linebacker corps, which always have the D-Line's back...
#14 Nick Barnett (Linebacker)
#15 Brandon Chillar (Linebacker)
#16 A.J. Hawk (Linebacker)
#17 Clay Matthews (Linebacker)

Plus you can't forget the stellar play of the Packers DB's...
#18 Charles Woodson (Cornerback)
#19 Nick Collins (Safety)

And finally the kicker... a.k.a... the difference maker...
#20 Mason Crosby (Kicker)

I'm a huge fan of this year's design. The backs don't feature any football stats, but they list the player's height, weight, college, and how many seasons they've played. There's also a sentence or two that mention the player's 2009 highlights. And it wouldn't be a police set without safety tips from Wisconsin fifth graders.

So what do you think? Anyone interested in a free set? I have an extra set that I'm giving away. I'm not going to advertise this... nor do I want you to either. It's pretty simple... if you're a follower and have taken the time to read my post, then I appreciate your support.

All you have to do is put down who you think is going to win the game, along with how many points you think the Packers will score.

Example: Steelers will win it... Packers will score 30

After the game... I'll look at everyone who chose the correct team. Then check to see who has the closest guess on the Packers point total. If there is a tie, I'll use random.org to aide me.

I'll accept entries until Saturday night at 11:59pm.

Thanks again to everyone who takes the time to read and comment on my blog. Have a great week... and once again... Go Pack Go!
