Are you ready for some flea market posts? I hope so, because I have two to three posts worth of purchases that I'll be sharing soon. There's even a card show purchase I made that hasn't been scanned and put away.
On a more productive note, I did scan two care packages containing forty-six cards for my 2006 Topps Allen & Ginter set build. The first one was a PWE from Bo (@ Baseball Cards Come to Life!) containing eighteen cards for my set:
Greg over at The Collective Mind sent me thirty-nine cards. Eleven were cards that Bo also sent. Twenty-eight were unique:
Before
After
Thanks to Bo and Greg.... the set build is 76% complete (266/350) with 25 of the 84 missing cards being short prints. My Sportlots focus will be on my 2011 Topps Update set, but as soon as that is complete I'm gonna try and wrap this one up.
In the meantime... here are a trio of Magic the Gathering Doctor Who cards I purchased off of eBay last week:
2023 Magic The Gathering Universes
Beyond Doctor Who #0148
2023 Magic The Gathering Universes
Beyond Doctor Who #0005
2023 Magic The Gathering Universes
Beyond Doctor Who #0003
Joe over at The Shlabotnik Report showed off The Fourth Doctor on his blog, which motivated me to pick up these three.
Well that's an update on my 2006 Topps Allen & Ginter set build as well as my latest blog inspired purchase.
My next post will most likely be the first half of my flea market finds from three weeks ago. Until then...
Happy Tuesday and sayonara!

Glad to help!
You're moving right along with that set build.
Let me know when you embark on all the Ginter sets since that one! :)
Nice Doctor Who cards! I'll have to keep an eye out for more of these. The Fourth Doctor will always be my favorite, but I'll never forget the excitement I felt when I first saw The Ninth Doctor and realized that the people behind this new version "got it".
"Nice to meet you, Rose. Run for your life!" :-D
Ah. Ginter back when it still had good non-baseball cards. Sorta surprised you don't have the Duke Kahanamoku card already though.
You're making some great progress with those set builds! And the Doctor Who cards are very nice.
I saw those Magic Doctor Who cards and thought I would get a sampler pack or two, then I saw the price, yikes! I've been hoping they'd show up at Wal-Mart at a discounted price like other sets but no deal so far.
bo - thank you bo!
johnnys trading spot - yeah. both of these guys really hit my list hard. eventually i'll try cross a bunch off on sportlots
gca - lol. not going to happen. i'll be content with this one in a binder
shlabotnik report - thanks for showing the fourth doctor on your blog. always looking for collecting inspiration :D
nick vossbrink - i'm very surprised too. i don't even have a copy for my surfing pc. but it'll happen sooner than later
chris - my focus will be on the 2011. want to finish that by the start of the school year. after that i'll target the 2006 a&g. yeah... it's a cool set. had i known about that product (mtg doctor who), i probably would have bought a box.
jafronius - i didn't even look up pack prices, but that sucks that they're expensive. i'd love to open up some (even a full box). but sounds like it's out of my budget.
Bo and Greg are both great to work with and I love seeing the progress on your sets thanks to their help. Also, "Are you ready for some flea market posts?" You know I am, buddy!
I need to get some spongebob magic the gathering cards still!
