JBF > Collector Crate

If I'm starting to sound like a broken record, blame it on Mr. Jaybarkerfan himself.  He's seriously our hobby's version of Santa Claus.  It's as if he has an endless supply of cardboard and is a minority owner of the United States Postal Service.

Metaphorically... he's a leaking dam flooding my collection with sports cards.  Every time I try to even things up with him, he hits me back with two, three, and sometimes four more packages.  This past week I received my 7th JBF care package of the year and this time around it was reminiscent of one of those Collector Crate mystery boxes that several bloggers out there have been subscribing to.

If you're familiar with these mystery boxes, then you know they come with cool sports trinkets like this foam finger:

However Wes took things to the next level and threw in a Mark McGwire commemorative  baseball...

a pair of Kenner Starting Lineups...

and a sealed Golden Greats of Baseball VHS tape:

Another Collector Crate staple are their packs of cards... and guess what Wes included those too:

He went one step further and included three sets and a cool 1988 Topps box bottom that features three San Diego Padres:

The final Collector Crate component are the singles they include in each of their boxes.  From what I've seen they'll try to pick singles based on your favorite teams... which is what exactly JBF did too:

Sorry Collector Crate... you guys aren't in JBF's league.

Wes... thank you for the amazing care package.  I had a great time opening it up and slowly going through each and every item you sent.  I'm slowly accumulating some stuff for your collection, but it probably won't be in the next round of packages I ship out.  I need to hit eBay and COMC since you've already cleaned me out of all of my Crimson Tide, Josh Willingham, and Arizona Cardinals cardboard.

But what's the saying?  Good things come to those who wait.  Thanks again buddy!

Happy Sunday and sayonara!

HOLY CRAP - IS THAT A BUNTING STARTING LINEUP?!?!?!?!

I agree. Wes' bombs are the...bomb. He puts so much thought into each one. I know I've mentioned small things once or twice in a post, and he files away those nuggets and always hits them with his packages.

Awesome package, Wes outdoes himself again. Who is that bunt Starting Lineup guy? Looks like a white lefty from the A's. I guess I could look for the checklist. That Gwynn Icons card stands out to me, I need to look more into that set. Congrats on the great package.

WOOOOOWWW - way to start out a new year!

Sorry to add an ATTBAT pimp, but...for some unknown reason, my blog is not updating on anybody's blogrolls, so please be sure to stop by ATBATT and check out my latest blog post.

I know... the guy is in his own league.

Lol... yup. It's the super rare, where the heck happened to that guy, Ben Grieve bunting SLU.

Exactly. The fact that he does it for so many different bloggers is what amazes me. Insane. But much appreciated.

Here's a link to his blog:

He's the first person who introduced me to the Pay It Forward sports card project. He hasn't blogged in a few months, but that hasn't kept him from shipping packages to all parts of the blogosphere.

I just added it to my blogroll... however I've been having issue with it. Blogspot will only allow me to have 300 blogs and have made it impossible for me to delete retired blogs, so I can add new ones. It says your blog is #300, so hopefully it makes it onto my reading list.
