Simply put... it hurt. Most of us have been there before. And each of us copes with this emotional tidal wave in one way or another.
Some people drink. Other people eat. One of my friends hopped into her car and went grocery shopping. Another went to sleep.
But I went a different route. I started sifting through my box of unsorted cards, where I keep recent flea market and eBay purchases, cards sent from fellow bloggers, and other items that are waiting to be filed.
That's when I stumbled across these three awesome cards:
1995 Bowman's Best Jumbo Refractors #2
1995 Bowman's Best Jumbo Refractors #7
1995 Bowman's Best Jumbo Refractors #9
And believe it or not... these three beautiful, shiny inserts took my mind off the loss for a solid 40 to 60 seconds.
Have you ever seen these before? They're awesome! Well... that's assuming you can appreciate mid 90's, shiny, oversized parallels that utilize a simple design and incorporate some of the biggest names in the game.
And they're the perfect thing to help take your mind off of things when all of your World Series hopes and dreams are flushed down the drain.
Happy Friday and sayonara!
I was going to suggest a prescription of three super shiny cards.
ReplyDeleteThat Cal card is excellent.
ReplyDeleteI've got a couple. I've never been much of a fan of the '90s silver phase.
ReplyDeleteIf you're interested in trading them... let me know. I think I'm going to build this set.
DeleteAs a Tigers fan, I did not want the A's as an opponent and I feel we really got lucky with the win in the series. Your club is always competitive each year and one day you will be rewarded, I am sure of that.
ReplyDeleteNow that we have the Bosox I will rest easier because i know the A's were a much scarier opponent.
I wish you guys the best of luck.
DeleteLove 'em!
ReplyDeleteShiny, '90s and inserts/parallels are music to my ears.
ReplyDeleteI knew a few minutes ago that Red Sox are receiving Tigers...there is no more hope in AL.
