End of the Road

Here are three not-so-random facts to kick off your week.

#1Anne Frank collected images of movie stars torn from magazines and decorated her bedroom walls with them.

2015 Panini Americana Star Materials #SM-GRO

Ginger Rogers was one of those movie stars.

#2:  It took 7,444 games for a San Diego Padres hitter to hit for the cycle.

2016 Topps Scouting Report Relics #SRR-MK

On August 14, 2015, Matt Kemp finally ended the drought with a triple in the 9th inning against the Colorado Rockies.  Now the franchise is looking for their first no-hitter.

#3:  This is the final week of daily giveaways over at Padrographs.

It started back in March, but the end of the road is in sight.  Thank you Rod for opening up your collection and offering up cards to your readers.  I promise to give Ginger and Matt a warm and loving home.

Happy Monday and sayonara!

  1. I would love to see Joey Lucchesi pick up a no-no. He doesn't pitch deep into games, so maybe a combined no-no.

I wish I had a drop of Anne Frank's courage.

  8. Will the Padres pitch a no-hitter or win the World Series first?

  9. the snorting bull - at this point i'd settle for a 9 pitcher combined no-no. but if i had to pull for a specific pitcher... i'd go with paddack

alex markle - actually comatoad's blog was the inspiration. he wrote about it the day before. but when i think of kemp as a padre, the cycle is the first thing that comes to mind.

gcrl - lol. i actually liked him more when he was with the dodgers. i think as a padres fan, i was hoping for more production. at least it didn't cost them too much.

commishbob - yeah. very easy on the eyes

johnnys trading spot - you guys have definitely been helping keep the postal service running

sumomenkoman - yeah. 50 years and not a single no-hitter. nolan ryan had seven in twenty-something years? even the marlins have five or six. it's kind of embarrassing

hackenbush - wow. those two could dance. and i totally agree with you in regards to anne frank and her family.

peter k steinberg - no-hitter first... then a world series title. both will take place in 2021 ;)
