30 Day Baseball Card Challenge

The Final Piece

It's been almost four months since I started Tony's 30 Day Baseball Card Challenge and I'm only up to Day 22, which is to show off a card of a common player that always seems to elude me.

Unfortunately, I couldn't think of a response, so I've decided to tweak his challenge and show off a common card that always seems to elude me.

Believe it or not... even that was kind of challenging.  But I dug through my wantlists and eventually found one card that met the modified qualifications.  Meet the 2016 Topps Archives #188 Brandon Crawford:

After a eighteen months of busting blaster boxes, purchasing card lots from my friend at the flea market, and finding singles in dime boxes at card shows... this is the final card I need for my set.  I'll look for it again at the upcoming Serramonte Card Show, but if I can't find a copy... I'll just bite the bullet and grab one off of Sportlots or COMC.

While we're on the topic of set building, I wanted to thank one of my readers who recently helped me out with two sets I'm currently trying to build.

After I wrote about purchasing sixteen packs of 1994 Parkhurst Missing Link in my August Flea Market Finds post, Thomas reached out and offered to help me.

He sent me thirteen cards for the set, which crossed off nearly a third of my needs.  In addition to the hockey cards, he also included a 2005 Topps Heritage baseball card:

At first I thought this was a bonus card for either my Padres PC or my Lefty PC, but then I remembered that I'm still looking for a few more cards for my 2005 Topps Heritage master set.

Thank you Thomas for the generous donation.  I know you mentioned that you're mostly a TTM guy, but if there are any specific sets you're trying to build please let me know and I'll try to return the favor.

Happy Saturday and sayonara!
