This year I received the token box of Russell Stover chocolates, a handful of gift cards, and of course an assortment of coffee mugs. But this year, I also received a pair of hobby related collectibles that I'm excited to add to my classroom collection.
Now what you're about to feast your eyes on is not an eBay 1 of 1. It's not a print either. Nope. It's a one of a kind sketch card from one of the premier artists in my 5th period class:
He combined the trading card I hand out to students with my Movember portrait to produce this masterpiece. The back is designed too, but I didn't scan it because it contains several of my students names.
I also received another Funko Pop. This time it's a Russell Wilson figure.
It's funny. I rarely receive any Seattle Seahawks memorabilia from my students. Oakland A's stuff? Yes. Green Bay Packers stuff? Yup. San Jose Sharks stuff? Uh huh. But for some reason, this is only the fourth Seahawks item I've ever received.
Hopefully it's a good luck charm, because Wilson and company are going to need it tonight against a tough Arizona defense.
Thank you Mr. L and Mr. M for these two awesome Christmas gifts.
Happy Sunday and sayonara!
That sketch card is awesome! There is so much riding on tonight's Cardinals vs. Seahawks game! I hope it lives up to the hype.
ReplyDeleteThe Hawks kept the score close in the first half thanks to their numerous penalties. Hopefully they'll be a little more disciplined next week. The second half got out of hand. Good victory for the Hawks... and amazing runs by Lynch and Wilson.
DeleteKid is a better artist than I am
ReplyDelete90% of my students can draw better than me ;-)
DeleteYou must be one of the (nice) teachers. The sketch card and Russell Wilson figure are great gifts to receive. Maybe you could take a class on a field trip to a MLB game or some kind of sports event.
ReplyDeleteUmmm... I guess it depends on who you ask. I love to joke around with the kids and make the education process entertaining, but at the same time I have very high expectations for my students and don't tolerate any "disrespectful" behavior in my classroom. In short... if the students are respectful to each other and the staff... and are responsible enough to use my classroom time wisely, then I'm one of the "nice" teachers.
DeleteAs for field trips... I think this Spring the PE department is taking kids to a San Jose Giants game. I've already told my buddies that I'd be willing to chaperone if they need help ;)
You should hand out your card wantlist to your students at the beginning of every school year. :)
ReplyDeleteLol... good idea ;-)
DeleteRussell Wilson is cute but his figure really needs a hug!
