I Take My Hat Off To Fleer

Some things are worth repeating.  And one of those things is me professing my love for 2001 Fleer Legacy autographed hats.

Barry Bonds

It's pretty simple... while card companies were flooding the hobby with autographed cards, Fleer took things to the next level and started adding one of these cool, fitted, MLB licensed caps into each of their Legacy boxes.

Steve Carlton

I know they're not for everyone.  They take up a lot more room than a 2.5" x 3.5" piece of cardboard and are much more difficult to display.

Tom Glavine

But like humans... if you love something enough, you're willing to accept them for whatever they are.

Jim Thome

And I've got nothing, but love for these four hats.

Happy Friday and sayonara!

    1. Right now I don't have the room, but my buddy is going to use them in his man cave after he buys the hat protectors.

  2. I assume these are not like the NFL Mini helmets? Whatever they are cool as heck.

  3. Wow, I know nothing about that deal. Learn something new every day on these blogs. I went and looked them up on eBay. Boxes go for upwards of $300. Did you get them from boxes or individually as caps on the secondary market?

    1. I picked all of them up on eBay. All four hats cost me just under the price of a box. The Bonds set me back the most ($100 + $20 shipping), but the rest were just around $45 to $55 (delivered).

  6. Fleer did this in Basketball too with their Fleer Legacy product in 00-01. You got an autograph replica jersey per box
