That has to be the nastiest broken toe I have ever seen.
I was surprised that this fight was actually set, Jones is a bad ass and Sonnen is a shadow of his former self (though he still talks shit like a champ) this fight was put together to make noise only and unless the mythological "Superfight" against either GSP or Silva finally happens I don't see anyone beating Jones outside of a freak chance.
Jones vs. Silva would be huge... the sooner the better, before age sets in with Silva. It's a shame they've said they won't fight each other. As for GSP vs. Jones... it's more likely that Silva would fight GSP, than Jones... due to the weight issue.
I wouldn't mind seeing Cormier vs. Jones. Cormier is a bulldog and in the past has mentioned dropping down to light heavyweight. That would be a pretty good fight... but I'd still put my money on Jones.
I'm assuming he won....
ReplyDeleteYup... 1st round. He broke his toe (nasty looking), but didn't realize it until he was being interviewed.
DeleteI don't do UFC or Boxing, I've broken toes before and carried on playing soccer.
ReplyDeleteI can't speak from personal experience, since I've never had a broke bone... but his bone was sticking out of his toe.
