Attack of the Spam!
My blog has recently been attacked by a ridiculous amount of SPAM, so unfortunately I'm forced to turn on the word verification for future comments. Sorry guys... I tried my best to ignore their dumb comments, but when they start overwhelming my mailbox... something has to give. Happy Thursday and sayonara!
Lol... I know. From time to time, they're entertaining... but now it's completely out of control. Guess these "anonymous" guys are on holiday break from their regular jobs and have a lot of free time these days.
You 100% correct... 95% of their comments weren't published on my blog. I just got tired of the extra emails and having to go in and manually deleting the ones who slipped past their filter.
I've been hit quite a bit this month as well. They must be working overtime for the holidays. There was one day where they let 7 or 8 go through and they were all on a post from 6 months ago, other than that, they've been catching most of them.
So are you saying you don't want a replica Rolex or V|áGr@?
ReplyDeleteLol... I can get both of those items at my local flea market. Heck... maybe you'll see these items in my next Flea Market Finds post.
DeletePeople whine about the word verification, but you don't need that kind of hassle.
ReplyDeleteIt's sort of like a condom... you don't really want to use it, but it's there for your protection.
DeleteHalf the time what they say doesn't make any sense. Or they think your blog is about greeting or business cards.

DeleteI had to do the same thing as well, Fuji. I had turned off the verification for awhile but I had to switch it back on.
ReplyDeleteActually Blogger does a pretty decent job of dumping a lot of the junk into the spam folder itself but too much was still getting through.

ReplyDeleteI haven't been hit yet...might be because I'm posting about 3 times a month.
