As soon as I leave this page, I'm going to look up the Lyons play... and that tidbit on Canseco is the sort of stuff that I enjoy blogging about.

The question is... did he break the record? And if not... who does he share the record with? I'll go look it up right now (after I look up the Lyons slide).Fujihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00749100861086458307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4199201726099157936.post-58936049454850635472012-09-04T15:11:41.121-07:002012-09-04T15:11:41.121-07:00Happy belated birthday from me, too!

Second, ...First things first, happy birthday dude!

Second, not much of interest seems to have happened on my birthday in sports. A few people retired (like Dale Murphy, 1993), players got their jersey retired (like Tony Perez in 2000), and in Mets history, it seems only bad things happen on my birthday (in 1993, pitcher Anthony Young loses record 24th straight game). But scanning a few sites looking for something interesting on May 27th got me this: 1981 - After Lenny Randle drops to his hands and knees in an attempt to 'encourage' Amos Otis' slow roller to go foul, umpire Larry McCoy accuses the Mariner third baseman of blowing the ball foul. Randle's explanation that he was merely yelling at the ball not to stay fair is initially convincing until Royals' manager Jim Frey complains.

We have all seen that amusing blooper and at least I can call it my own.jacobmrleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13991748868368917576noreply@blogger.com
